A California native, Kim comes from a strong theater background, having performed in numerous professional productions in both New York and Los Angeles. She has studied at the prestigious Actors Studio and has worked alongside such Hollywood heavyweights as Shelley Winters, Jack Nicholson, and Martin Landau. With experience ranging from comedy at the esteemed Groundlings, as well as Second City, and currently at The Improv Olympic. Kim's television debut was a recurring role on the CBS soap opera, "The Young and the Restless." Soon to follow was a starring role in the feature film adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's award-winning play "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" for HBO Films. Kim's rare combination of believability and comedic timing landed her appearances on hit shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “General Hospital”, “House”, “The Jamie Foxx Sketch Comedy Show”, and “Strong Medicine".
Kim has enjoyed teaching young children to adults Improvisation, Spolin Games, and Scene Study. Kim encourages in her students to be honest, focused, and have fun! Also a screenwriter and playwright, Kim has had numerous plays produced in Los Angeles, including "Define Love," which was deemed "truly incredible: the work of a female David Mamet" by LA Weekly. As a licensed nurse, Kim has worked the ER and ICU units at UCLA Medical Center. Her nursing skills have been heavily utilized on numerous medical dramas as a Medical advisor.
